G-Form Shin Guards - Review

What's going on everyone, welcome to another blog.

Today I want to discuss G-form shin guards and give you a little insight as to how I feel about them. As you may know (if you follow me on social media) I have been using G-form shin guards for about 4 years now and I can definitely say that they are the most attractive that I have used so far. Not only do G-form offer comfort but they also are machine washable which is a massive bonus. We all know shin guards can get extremely dirty and smelly, so the fact that you can put these into the washing machine for them to come out spotlessly clean and smelling good is epic!

As I said, I have been using G-form for many years and the very first pair that I got are STILL in very good condition believe it or not. Obviously, you can see a little bit of wear and tear but they definitely have a lot of life left in them. I do have a couple of other pairs, which I

do like to switch around depending on my mood (or the socks that I'll wear) but I mostly stick to my yellow and black pair as they go perfectly with my club colours.

As far as appearance goes, I think G-form are the coolest and most unique on the market. Sometimes when I put them on, I look down and think they look like a cool, robotic type armor.

Personally, from using other brands such as Nike, Adidas, SAK Project, etc. I think G-from are miles ahead in terms of comfort and durability. I used to use Nike Mercurial shin guards and I found that they would slip around my sock, prove hard to lock down in place and with G-form, its the total opposite.

I feel that G-form products are superb in terms of value for money, but some people have actually told me that they think G-form are a little bit on the expensive side which I completely disagree with because as I'm said they last incredibly long you compared to your average €15-€20 shin guard. You might buy a pair for maybe €15 and they might only last a year or two if you're lucky. If they're stinky, you're probably only getting ONE season out of them before they make all your teammates vomit in the dressing room.

Everyone appreciates a long lasting product, which for me would be G-form. Yeah, you're probably going to pay a little bit more maybe 25-30 euro (depending on the type) but you will have them for years! (Unless of course you misplace them - Don't be that person)

If you haven't already noticed from the pictures or videos you many have come across online, G-form protective gear are made of a soft, sponge like material in which you can bend and squeeze. This not only feels more comfortable than your typical guard, but it works in an incredible way to keep you safe from injury. The soft material hardens on impact, which was quite intriguing for me and this was a main factor in what drew me to wanting to try G-form shin guards out for myself.

One thing I will say about G-form, which I tell people all the time, is that they can be very tight the first time you use them. My first experience with them was perfectly fine but after about an hour, I felt like I was my calves were tightening up and I was feeling a little bit of discomfort but after using them maybe 3 or 4 times, you'll notice them stretching out a bit and becoming less tight. This is just like wearing a new pair of football boots, sometimes products need a little bit of time to break in.

What I would suggest is if you were going to get a pair of G-form shin guards, I would wear them around the house or to training and then have them broken in and ready for GAMEDAY. Doing this will ensure you won't have any discomfort during the game and you can pay for the full 90 minutes.

Here are the four types that I have:

1 - PRO-S

2 - PRO-S Blade

3 - PRO-S Compact

4 - PRO-S Elite

The prices for this range from $14.99 to $39.99

All in all I am a huge fan of G-form products. Here's how I would rate them.

Overall look and design - 5/5

Overall Comfort - 5/5

Durability - 5/5

Price - Well worth it, 5/5!

I don't like to give full marks all the time as I always think there's room for improvement, however, I just can't give them any less. I did consider a 4.5 for comfort due to the first couple of tries and getting use to the tightness, but once you are past that, comfort and lockdown is next to none. Therefore, they get a well deserved 5/5.

If you have tried them out, I would love to hear your thoughts and if you haven't yet tried them, maybe you will after reading my views.
